Fencing Festival

You know what burns really well in a blazing bushfire? Fencing. Lots of it. Really, LOTS of it.

If you're sitting in front of a keyboard and wondering what practical help you can render, stop and consider the joys of learning how to FENCE. Sure, it's hot, dirty physical work, but you get to take a great keyboard break, learn new skills (that will serve you for a lifetime) and meet new friends that could teach you a thing or two about a fence. You could even double up with our Wildlife Support challenge and do some #citizenscience whilst you're at it!

Think you can innovate in this space? In the aftermath of the 2019/2020 Australian fires, thousands of kilometers of fencing will have been destroyed, requiring a massive recovery team effort to restore livestock protection and asset boundaries. We're yet to see a high tech solution to this one. So consider signing up to help out the team at BlazeAid.

Email from Greg, 12/1/20, 10:31am from Shoalhaven City council asking for multiple bases to be set up. Initial estimates are at least 15,000kms of boundary fencing with an additional 50,000 internal fencing req.

❤️❤️ Rick, I was so inspired by your strength and resilience. Australia is behind you and all farmers affected by the recent drought and bushfire season. If you're wanting to lend a hand in this horrible bushfire season, there's so much work to do for people like Rick. If you can spare a weekend you can make a difference helping someone start rebuilding their life. One fence post at a time. As Rick says, you don't even need to know what a cow smells like.
